Maria Krivosheina


Maria Krivosheina is a lecturer and a PhD candidate at the National Research University ‘Higher School of Economics’ in Moscow, Russia (School of Philological Studies). Her main research interests include Anglo-Russian and Russo-Scottish cultural contacts, Russian and British literary periodicals, Russian literature in Britain, and reception of Victorian and Edwardian fiction in Russia (Russian Sherlockiana in particular). Her doctoral thesis is focused on the reception and appropriation of Russian literature and culture by British literary magazines of the 1890–1910s, from late Victorian middlebrow periodicals to the modernist ‘little magazines’, and is particularly concerned with the role of journalistic networks and cultural mediators in dissemination of Russian fiction.
